Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation

 

Have you been curious about meditation, but unsure about getting started?  In this introduction, you will learn the basics of starting a daily practice.  Research has demonstrated a number of health benefits that result from a daily practice, including:

·        improves concentration and mental clarity

·        reduces symptoms of stress

·        lowers blood pressure

·        increases physical relaxation

·        increases emotional regulation

·        improves sleep

·        reduces pain

 

Facilitator:  “Mira” Mary E. Tessman completed a two-year training in Samyama Healing Meditation in 1997 and teaches meditation and hatha yoga.  Mira is also a psychotherapist in private practice.  Her daily practice has been her greatest training.
